Le Potazzine owns some of the highest altitude vineyards in Montalcino, which proved a huge asset during the summer heat of 2020. The estate also benefits from the cooling westerly winds that flow in off the Tyrrhenian Sea. Gigliola’s understanding of the terroir of Montalcino particularly with respect to the issues that surround solar vintages has led to the recent acquisition of a new vineyard in one of Montalcino’s highest points to help mitigate these issues for the future. These are beautiful Brunellos that exude elegance, balance and freshness and are highly sought after.
