This well know estate is certainly entering a new era and now making wines with real charm and a forward drinking style. This has strong dark currant fruit aromas, in the palate it is all about succulence and lusciousness, the tannins are rounded and ripe and the wine is beginning to enter its peak of drinking.

Strong bright ruby colour. Brilliant flavours of currants and cassis, this is surprisingly accessible and highlights the easy fruit style of the lovely 2009 vintage. A very rewarding early drinking Cru Bourgeois Claret.
Juicy and fresh with a palateful of strawberries, black cherries, smooth tannins and cedar undertones. A velvety mouthful that will give lots of pleasure early on, yet which can develop over several years.
Wood spice, roasted herbs and black currants are present in this solidly made, supple blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. (A member of the Association of Crus Bourgeois du Medoc.) Drink: 2012 - 2017
A fruity and clean wine, with chocolate and berry character. Delicate finish.
Fine deep red, good, slightly herbaceous cassis fruit, good elegant flavours and good Médoc grip, classic quite forward Médoc with good pure fruit. Drink 2013-18.
Dark crimson. Bright fruit. Very sweet palate entry - all pleasure in a very luscious way. Could be VGV. Hedonistic but may not last all that long?

The Haut-Médoc is an appellation within the Médoc that stretches along the left bank of the Gironde from Blanquefort in the south to the north of Bordeaux. The region encompasses the more famous communes of St-Estèphe, Pauillac, St-Julien and Margaux. Following the 1855 classification many of its most famous estates were classified and scored as first, second, third, fourth or fifth growths. This was based on their social and commercial positions at the time. Most of these classed growths use the village appellation name, such as Pauillac. However five of these classed growths fell outside a village appellation so take the name Haut-Médoc. Many of the vineyards which are classified as Haut-Médoc may actually also be referred to as Cru Bourgeois wines. These wines have lower permitted yields and so offer great value for money.
