Goedhuis, August 2016
This Grand Cru on the hill of Corton, just outside Beaune, has an intense wild berry fruit flavour, followed by real drive and great structure. As with many 2009s it is juicy and supple, and drinking perfectly now.

Goedhuis, January 2011
A real Grand Cru with huge poise. This wine is full of intense wild berry fruit flavours, and has real drive, with great structure and depth and the weight of flavours completely coat the mouth. A long and complete wine which has excellent ageing potential.

Burghound, April 2011, Score: 92-94
This is also very ripe but here the cassis, violet and black berry aromas are noticeably fresher. The rich, intense and broad-shouldered flavors display a distinct mineral character and better elegance to the dense but fine tannins that shape the hugely long finish. This has the potential to be outstanding but it will require the better part of two decades to arrive at its peak. Drink: 2024+.

Stephen Tanzer, March 2012, Score: 93+
(80% vendange entier): Good dark red. Dark, brooding aromas of cherry pit, botanical herbs, smoke and earth. Deep, energetic and penetrating, offering a beautiful combination of volume and focus. This very tactile wine boasts vibrant, highly perfumed flavors of black fruits, pepper and spices and finishes uncompromisingly dry, with firm tannins and superb cut and lift. Showed a riper aroma of strawberry jam after 24 hours in the recorked bottle without any loss of freshness. I'd lay this beauty down for at least six to eight years.
Region
Corton
The Grands Crus of Corton, a red made from Pinot Noir, and Corton Charlemagne, a white made from Chardonnay are shared between Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix Serrigny and Pernand Vergelesses. The vines for both are planted on the hillsides underneath the plateau of Corton's woodland forest. The majorityof Pinot Noir is planted in the southern and eastern sector where the soil is naturally rich with red iron clay giving additional body and power. Overall, the wines from these areas tend to be fruit forward and fleshy with a balance of round edges and fine concentration.
