Goedhuis, December 2016
This southerly facing vineyard produces a succulent and generous wine. The aromas blend red cherries and sweet wild strawberries. The plump and full mouth-feel is aided by richly textured tannins and hints of mocha on the finish. A very appealing Savigny.

Neal Martin, December 2016, Score: 87-89
The 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières comes from mainly limestone soils on the mid-slope. This has more fruité than the Les Fourneaux with ample mulberry and raspberry scents, quite opulent for this vineyard. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy, fairly rigid tannin. There is modest weight in the mouth, but like the aforementioned Les Fourneaux, I find that finish rather dry and unyielding at the moment. Drink Date 2017 - 2023
Region
Savigny-lès-Beaune
The picturesque village of Savigny-lès-Beaune, just to the north of Beaune, is a relatively prolific producer in Burgundian terms. Less serious than its neighbours, Pommard and Volnay, these are nonethless delicious wines - perfumed, delicate and elegant. A tiny amount of white is produced.
