Goedhuis, December 2021
The Faiveley family are the largest owners of this great Grand Cru, with 1.2 hectares in three separate locations purchased back in the 1930s. Full and opulent yet poised, bursting with wild berries, and a touch of smoky oak and oriental spice. Portraying the richness, personality and tremendous intensity of the vintage, this has muscle and power. Very layered and the flavours linger for a pleasingly long time.

Neal Martin, December 2021, Score: 95-97
The 2020 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a very delineated, quite floral bouquet with rose petal infusing the mixture of red and black fruit. There is a touch of sous-bois that become accentuated with time. The palate is fleshy and almost confit-like on the entry, but the acidity keeps this on an even keel. Plush, luxuriant...almost sexy (I dislike the word apropos Burgundy) but there is something very sensual about this wine. Very long in terms of length. Superb. Drink 2027 - 2055

Burghound, January 2022, Score: 93-96
Noticeable wood is present on the super-spicy and floral nose of layered red and blue pinot fruit aromas. The mouthfeel of the large-scaled flavors is positively gorgeous with excellent richness, indeed opulence, that contrasts with the youthfully austere, complex and hugely long finish where a touch of warmth slowly emerges. This is also seriously impressive. Don't miss! Drink: 2037+

A fine even and fairly deep purple. The bouquet starts quietly but then opens out in a very floral style. Pretty dancing fruit, seems light on its feet but there is certainly body behind, and a little more ripeness but still harnessed. A long and dancing finish too.

Chambertin Clos de Bèze
Gevrey-Chambertin has more Grand Crus than any other appellation in Burgundy. Unusually wines from Clos de Beze may simply call themselves Chambertin, which is an indicator of the quality of these vineyards. One of the most complete of all the Grand Crus, rivalling the revered Romanee-Conti, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze wines are the pinnacle of Pinot Noir - fragrant, powerfully complex and intense.
