Goedhuis, November 2018
This was unquestionably one of the finest wines we tasted this year and all but rendered us speechless. Dazzling. Suave. Perfect.

Neal Martin, January 2019, Score: 93-95
The 2017 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a very precise bouquet, a little introverted at first, that features a mixture of red and black fruit and seems to grow in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with touches of tobacco and graphite lacing the dark plum and blackberry fruit. Very harmonious and long in the mouth, displaying a touch of brine toward the long finish. Excellent. 2023 - 2050

Burghound, January 2019, Score: 92-94
This too is firmly reduced though the moderate wood treatment is perceptible. By contrast here too there is a succulent and caressing mouthfeel to the solidly concentrated and relatively powerful flavors that possess excellent punch on the lingering and youthfully austere finish that really fans out as it sits on the palate. There is a hint of warmth but overall this notably firm effort remains quite well-balanced. Drink 2032+

Decanter, December 2018, Score: 95
Yields were back up to normal here in 2017 after the frost-ravaged 2016 crop. This impressive Échézeaux, sourced from old vines in Les Rouges du Bas, is floral and appealing, with alluring texture, aromas of peony and rose petal, velvety tannins and a refreshing, chalk-tinged acidity. The slight reduction will disappear after racking. Drinking Window 2024 - 2032
Region
Echézeaux
One of two Grand Crus within the Flagey-Echezeaux area right in the heart of the Cote de Nuits. Relatively large and consequently diverse for a Grand Cru, the better Echézeaux wines undoubtedly deserve this status. As always in Burgundy vineyard location and grower is critical.
