Goedhuis, November 2018
This is a markedly elegant style for Clos de Vougeot, which can be awkward and ungainly in the wrong hands. It has a swirling bouquet of rose petals and cranberries. Its mid-palate weight is perfectly judged. With an astonishingly long finish, it is one of the most appealing wines in the cellar.

Neal Martin, September 2021, Score: 91?
The 2017 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru looks more mature in color than its peers. Red cherries and crushed strawberry feature on the nose, which lacks freshness. The palate is fleshy and quite sensual, but missing just a little depth and complexity toward the slightly coarse finish. A curious showing. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. Neal Martin, January 2019, Score: 92-94
The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has quite a strict, minerally bouquet of blackberry, raspberry and light pressed iris aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with gently gripping tannin, touches of orange peel and marmalade infusing the red berry fruit. The peppery finish perhaps does not quite possess the persistency of the Vosne Premier Crus at the moment. 2022 - 2045

Burghound, January 2019, Score: 92-94
Moderate wood influence and reduction are all that can be discerned at present. Otherwise the succulent and remarkably rich flavors are blessed with abundant amounts of dry extract that coats the palate and buffers the very firm tannic spine on the youthfully austere and sneaky long finish. This is a relatively big wine in the context of the vintage and one that will need most of 20 years to arrive at its apogee. Drink 2035+

Wine Advocate, January 2019, Score: 91-93
The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru displays attractive aromas of licorice and cassis that mingle with nuances of rose petal and incense, framed by a judicious touch of new wood. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and layered, with a broad-shouldered chassis of fine-grained tannins and the elegance and suppleness typical of the vintage, concluding with a sapid finish.

Decanter, December 2018, Score: 96
Running from their gate by the Route Nationale to the same height as the Château de la Tour, the Grivots' vines are all in the lower half of the Clos. In hot years like 2017, humid soils can be an advantage, which appears to be the case for this stylish, poised, well-balanced grand cru bottling. The 30% oak is particularly subtle, framing the fresh, mineral-edged finish. Drinking Window 2025 - 2030
