Burghound, January 2019, Score: 90-93
Here too discreet but not invisible wood frames spicy aromas of dark cherry, plum, tea and pretty floral wisps. There is good intensity to the sleek, delicious and lightly mineral-inflected flavors that possess the best mid-palate density of the entire range, all wrapped in a mildly tangy but not drying finish that also offers the best length in the range as well. Drink 2032+

Jancis Robinson, February 2020, Score: 18.5
Cranberry and raspberry with vibrant intensity. Very firm tannins. Powerful, stately – a grand mansion of a wine. Finishes with leather and violet. Likely to be very long lived. Packs a punch. (RH) 12.5%. Drink 2023 – 2047

Clos Saint-Denis
Tucked between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, and sharing the same stratum of limestone, Morey-St-Denis is unfairly less celebrated than its better known neighbours. It boasts five Grand Crus, including Clos-St-Denis. Slightly lighter than Clos-de-la-Roche, Clos Saint-Denis' wines balance delicacy, finesse and wonderful Pinot fruit - the quintessential Grand Cru of Morey-St-Denis.
