Producer

Fontodi

Since 1968, when the Manetti family first purchased this famous estate in Panzano, Fontodi has been recognised as a benchmark for producing some of the most profound Chianti Classicos, alongside their celebrated 'Super Tuscan' Flaccianello delle Pieve.

Region

Chianti Classico

There are seven zones within the Chianti appellation, though its centre, Chianti Classico is themost famous. The appellation regulations require that Sangiovese must make up at least 75% of theblend (many wines are 100%); however smaller percentages of native and non-native varieties, suchas Canaiolo, Colorino and Cabernet Sauvignon, are also permitted. The denomination of Riservaindicates a wine usually produced with more concentrated grapes than the traditional cuvée andrequires a minimum of one additional year of ageing.
