Burghound, Score: 92-95
An admirably pure, cool, restrained and decidedly earthy red and dark currant-scented nose that reflects ample amounts of classic Gevrey character as well as a plentitude of floral nuances. The muscular broad-shouldered flavors possess superb delineation and outstanding punch on the youthfully austere, markedly firm and tension-filled finale. This too is terrific though patience advised as this will need time to resolve the prominent tannic spine. Seet spot outstanding

Matthew Jukes, December 2020, Score: 19.5+
If Goulot majors on terroir, then Combe aux Moines majors on fruit expression and it is superb. The tonal complexity of red and black fruit is sensational and it is one of the most profound and detailed expressions of this vineyard I have ever tasted. Give this wine five to eight years before you have a look – it is epic 2019.

Jasper Morris MW, November 2020, Score: 94-97
Deep imperial purple colour, very saturated. There is a heavenly nose behind, just delivering everything at first sniff, no need to bother with individual fruit descriptors here, in the lap of luxury, but in perfect balance and indeed a particularly fine appealing fresh finish. Perfect cusp of black and red. 5 Star
Region
Gevrey Chambertin
The greatest village in terms of notable grand cru vineyards, Gevrey Chambertin has no less than 9 of them including its most famous Chambertin and Chambertin Clos de Bèze, and includes a premier cru vineyard that many people deem grand cru in quality - Clos St. Jacques. It encompasses approximately 400 hectares under vine also making it the largest top quality vineyard area in the Côte de Nuits. Gevrey-Chambertin has many followers who seek out its deeply coloured, robust and textured wines. They are often firmer than the neighbouring appellations of Chambolle Musigny and Vosne Romanée and can take several years to soften once released. Due to its size and reputation, the list of excellent producers is noteworthy and many are worth seeking out.
