  • Goedhuis, December 2020

La Truffière is Bruno’s only vineyard in Puligny Montrachet. Situated just below the hamlet of Blagny it takes its name from the Burgundy truffle which flourished here historically when vineyards were less prolific. With a wonderful touch of honeysuckle and satsuma, this has subtlety and harmony. Gorgeously seductive with a long rich, honeyed finish.

  • Burghound, Score: 92-94

This is quite firmly reduced at present and revealing nothing on the nose. Otherwise there is excellent intensity and delineation to the overtly mineral-driven flavors that culminate in a chiseled and youthfully austere finale that exudes refreshing hints of bitter lemon. This beautiful effort is classy and notably more harmonious plus it should age effortlessly. Sweet spot Outstanding. Drink 2031+

  • Jasper Morris MW, December 2020, Score: 91-94

There is a touch of reduction here, but with excellent intensity. Very good subtlety behind. Delicious and with impressive weight and energy, some ripe chardonnay spice, very complete all the way through and an excellent aftertaste. 4 stars

From 2016 onwards, his portfolio includes Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Desmoiselles and Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru, passed down to him by his father, Michel, who has stepped into retirement (Michel Colin-Deleger’s estate was divided between his two sons, Bruno and Philippe). Bruno’s style blends Burgundy's tell-tale minerality with luxuriant fruit. The wines tend to display generous concentration with vibrant drive. Many have the potential to age beautifully but Bruno’s wines are also notable for their open approachability in youth. His wide range of Chassagne Montrachet premiers crus captures the diverse expression of the appellation.Read less

Region

Puligny Montrachet

Puligny Montrachet is known as the most delicate of the white wine appellations south of Beaune. Its wines tend to be linear and mineral offering delicate floral and orchard fruit aromatics. Its village and premier cru vineyard area total slightly over 200 hectares but almost half of them are premier cru making them one of the highest proportions of quality vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. Several grand cru vineyards are present, the most notable being Le Montrachet and Bâtard Montrachetwhich it shares with neighbouring Chassagne, but it does have the extraordinary Chevalier Montrachet and the tiny Bienvenues Bâtard Montrachet all to itself. There are a handful of red wines grown, but they tend to be quite light and need to be drunk in their youth.
