  • Producer Note, January 2024

Luminous pale eau-de-rose color with hints of peach and melon. The nose is expressive, with notes of raspberry, tangy wild berries and white flowers. The attack is frank and elegant. the harmony of the grape varieties expresses itself on the palate with citrus notes, followed by a beautiful tension that accompanies the wine throughout its length. • BNS, May 2024, Score: 91

The 2023 Rosé Roseblood is notably elegant in its overall feel. Pineapple, peach, mango and jasmine engage with a particularly stony, salty mineral tension in the mouth. Expressive and neatly proportioned, this just sails across the finish line, keeping things fresh with a perfectly judged spine of citrus acidity.

  • NE, April 2024, Score: 90

Delicate and pretty, this rosé from Château d'Estoublon – which is co-owned by French singer Carla Bruni and the Prats family – is cotton soft and easy to drink. Plums and red berries surge through the palate, layered with strawberry pip and floral notes. There's good weight and concentration. The finish isn't all that long, but it has good freshness. Also contains 5% Rolle.

Region

Côtes de Provence

France's most extensive appellation, the Côtes de Provence stretches from Toulon in the west to near Cannes in the east. The vineyards run from the sun-baked Mediterranean coast up into the Alpine foothills with their cooling influence. Rose wine accounts for four fifths of Côtes de Provence production. Formerly a drink for holidays only, consumption of rose is on the rise in both France and the UK and and the wines are more and more serious. Typically Cinsaut and Grenache are the most popular grape varieties. There is also a renewed focus on producing higher quality red wine by incorporating Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah into the blends, although combined they can only represent 30% of the blend. Plantings of indigenous white varieties are also increasing especially in the coastal areas.
