En Primeur | Domaine Pommier

From small acorns grow mighty oaks. In 1990 Denis and Isabelle took over 2 hectares of family land outside the town of Chablis. Today, through astuteness and hard work, they have expanded the domaine to 23 hectares of high-quality vineyards, all benefitting from organic practices since 2014. Their style is to make fruit forward wines, with a graceful volume. They always have a classic Chablis freshness, combining well with floral and ripe Chardonnay flavours.

From a 1-hectare plot of 60-year-old vines, this is a flagship cuvée for the domaine. Denis uses a cautious amount of oak during the élevage process to allow the vineyard’s natural finesse to shine through. This is joyously charming in character, with aromas of yellow stone fruit, hints of clementine sweetness and a Seville orange peel twang. Bright and full of energy.
