Gevrey Chambertin is the northernmost of the great Côte de Nuits communes, and home to some of the most revered names in Burgundy. • Goedhuis, December 2021

A very lovely Gevrey Chambertin, concentrating more on red fruits, with pure raspberry and cranberry flavours. But make no mistake, this wine has plenty of depth and the 2020 hallmark of sweetness and fruit volume. The tannins give an earthy grip and structure, which are kept perfectly in place by the overall weight of fruit. An extremely well composed wine.

  • Burghound, January 2022, Score: 89-92

This is earthier still with a more sauvage character to the mostly dark berry scented nose. The rich and relatively full-bodied flavors are notably less mineral-driven, but they are a bit more expansive and powerful on the moderately austere, compact and built-to-age finale. This is a quality Gevrey villages and worth your interest. Drink 2028+. Outstanding.

  • Goedhuis, December 2021

4 hectares of village Gevrey Chambertin in ten different locations is a sizeable parcel and, as a result, this cuvée is always a classic example of the appellation. Always a lovely start to the tasting at the domaine, a full and expressive style with an abundance of tayberry and loganberry, good deep intensity and charming rounded tannins.

  • Burghound, January 2022, Score: 88-91

Equally ripe and fresh aromas are comprised by notes of poached plum, violet and a discreet but perceptible touch of wood. The bright, vibrant and delicious medium weight flavors possess solid density while offering just a bit more overall depth and persistence. Drink: 2027+

  • Matthew Jukes, January 2022, Score: 17

Ripe, smooth, harmonious and balanced, this is a workmanlike Gevrey that ticks the boxes and little more.

  • Neal Martin, March 2022, Score: 91

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a cohesive nose with wild strawberry comingling with blood orange, later touches of pressed rose petals. The palate is very well balanced with neatly integrated oak (40% new), fine salinity, fresh and lightly spiced towards its lingering finishing. Just pure, unadulterated Pinoté.

  • Decanter, November 2021, Score: 93

Bright cherry fruit, clean and forward on the nose, with hints of spice and a lilting feel on the palate enlivened by plenty of fresh acidity that carries it to a pleasantly balanced finish. This is blended from ten small parcels scattered throughout Gevrey and thus reflects the totality of the appellation. Bertrand and his sisters are continuing to work in the tradition of their father Claude: destemming the fruit, punching down during the fermentation and ageing the village wine in about one-third new casks.

  • WK, January 2022, Score: 90-92

Aromas of cherries, cassis, loamy soil and spices preface the 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, a medium-bodied, lively, precise and nicely concentrated wine that exemplifies the ideal of intensity without weight. It is well worth seeking out.
