Goedhuis, December 2012
The most backward wine in the cellar, when tasting in early December, but there was no doubting its huge potential, with its textured and weighted fruit flavours. The undoubted density of fruit will allow this wine to blossom with age, to be something very special indeed.

Burghound, January 2013, Score: 91-93
(from a .25 ha parcel that was planted in 1973 - an average vintage produces 3 barrels). As onewould fully expect, this is aromatically completely different from the nose of the Clos des Forêts with its beautifully elegant and medium-toned nose of highly spiced dark berry fruit liqueur suffused nose. The supple and seductively silky flavors are underpinned by refined tannins before terminating in a finish that is borderline creamy yet quite firm. I like the overall sense ofharmony though this isn’t really a classically styled RSV. (91-93)/2023+

Romanée Saint Vivant
Romanée-St-Vivant, which takes its name from the monastery of St-Vivant founded in c. 900, is a Grand Cru vineyard in Vosne-Romanée on the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. It is the largest of Vosne-Romanée's six Grands Crus and produces red wine only. The vineyard is located on the slope to the north of the town of Vosne-Romanée and is the nearest vineyard to this village. Romanée-Saint-Vivant's soils are deep and rich in clay and lime, which means the wines of Romanée-St-Vivant are usually lighter and less powerful than its neighbours'. Domaine de la Romanée Conti is the largest proprietor, owning over half of the area's 9.5 ha.
