Named after the colourful and sprightly great tits which adorn the Tuscan countryside, Le Potazzine is owned by the dynamic all female team of Gigliola Gianetti and daughters Viola and Sofia. Situated southwest of the town of Montalcino, the estate boasts some of the highest vineyards in the region at 507 metres. This high altitude mitigates any heat damage that may affect plantings at lower levels, while airflow from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west allows the vines to benefit from long warm days and cool evenings. In the winery, sole focus is on achieving harmony and finesse and, ever since the first vinification in 1993, Le Potazzine has been producing wines in the most natural way possible. Natural fermentation, a lengthy maceration process, and ageing in Slavonian oak, means that the wines of Le Potazzine are recognisable in their subtlety and matchless character.Read less
