Neal Martin, January 2023, Score: 87-89
The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Village comes from the upper sectors of the vineyard and is completely de-stemmed. It has an attractive nose with dark berry fruit, loam and light seaweed scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very smooth, creamy textured and seductive with a plummy, sensual finish. Not bad, though chasing the tail of Lambray's other 2021s. Drink 2024-2032.

Burghound, January 2023, Score: 88-91
Pretty and extremely fresh aromas include those of various red berries, fennel and a spice wisp. The supple, delicious and energetic middleweight flavors possess a juicy mouthfeel that provides a nice contrast with the crunchy, bright and utterly delicious finale. Drink 2028+

Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 87-88
From the top of the slope, on the limestone. Mid crimson to purple colour. No whole bunches. Slightly smudged fruit on the nose, medium bodied, very peppery at the finish. To drink early. Drink from 2024-2027.

Morey Saint Denis
Morey St. Dénis often suffers from an identity crisis. They are more fruit forward than the wines of Gevrey Chambertin, yet more structured than those of Chambolle Musigny. It seems in this sensethat they are like middle children, always wanting to please yet not standing out as the noisy one or the notably quiet one. They are however crowd pleasers and for those who feel that Gevreys are too muscular and Chambolles too feminine; Moreys seem just right, offering velvety tannins and tangible fruit. The village offers five grand cru vineyards including Clos de la Roche, Clos St. Dénis and Clos des Lambrays which nonetheless can rival those of neighbouring villages in terms of quality (some even view them as the best in the Côte de Nuits) and various premier cru vineyards.
