  • Goedhuis, December 2022

This vineyard on the Pernand side of the appellation, despite its strong clay content, makes very plush and full wines. This is a fine example. Hints of dark chocolate and boysenberry with ample volume. The tannins have a graceful feel to them and a lovely sweet spicy finish.

  • Neal Martin, November 2022, Score: 88-90

The 2021 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Lavières 1er Cru has an attractive nose with light cranberry, raspberry and briary scents. There's a fine definition, if not huge intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, a crisp line of acidity and a gentle grip toward the citrus-fresh finish. This works better than the Chorey-lès-Beaune. Drink 2024-2032

  • Matthew Jukes, January 2023, Score: 17.5

With good depth and uncommon succulence, this is an eminently affordable wine and a must-buy in 2021. The delicious silkiness and amplitude of the fruit make it a rare find.

  • Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 88-90

More of a ruby crimson colour. The bouquet has a red fruit energy, raspberry and redcurrant. With a little bit of cream from the oak of course. No more than medium bodied but with enough structure, and some elegance of fruit. Drink from 2025-2028.

The wines of Tollot-Beaut are some of the best we taste every vintage. Uncomplicated, pure and fresh, they epitomize everything that we love about wines from the Côte de Beaune. In addition, their fleshiness and approachability makes them perfect for cynics who claim that Burgundy is not their cup of tea. The 22-hectare domaine has been family-owned for years. Today, the young, friendly and exceptionally bright Nathalie Tollot manages the domaine with her cousins. The wines are vinified fairly traditionally. About 40% of the crop is de-stemmed, though this varies depending on vintage. The wines are fermented in open-top wooden vats before being aged in oak barrels that are 10-50% new. Very lightly fined and filtered before bottling, the resulting wines are often opulent with noticeable density, always clean and superbly pure. Just wonderful Burgundy.Read less

Region

Savigny-lès-Beaune

The picturesque village of Savigny-lès-Beaune, just to the north of Beaune, is a relatively prolific producer in Burgundian terms. Less serious than its neighbours, Pommard and Volnay, these are nonethless delicious wines - perfumed, delicate and elegant. A tiny amount of white is produced.
