Producer

Mallory Benjamin Talmard

The Talmard family has a long lasting reputation in Uchizy. The domaine has 31 hectares of vines and is run by husband and wife team, Benjamin and Mallory. They produce classic and consistent Macon Chardonnays.

Region

Mâcon Montbellet

Lying to the south of the Cote Chalonnaise and the north of Beaujolais, the town of Macon gives its name to wines produced from vineyards scattered among the surrounding villages. The climate is warmer than the Côte d'Or giving wines greater exposure to sun, less rain and reduced risk offrost. The vast majority are fresh, approachable whites made from Chardonnay. Reds and roses are also made principally from Gamay and a tiny amount of Pinot Noir. A quality level up from basic Macon, a total of 43 villages have the right to use the Macon-Villages appellation or to add the name of their village (e.g. Macon Montbellet) to the appellation name.
