2024 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu Pinson Frères
£180.00 In Bond £236.74 Inc VAT (£39.45 Per Bottle)-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2025
The Domaine’s flagship Premier Cru site, covering around 5 hectares, the fruit is sourced from four different locations which share the same Kimmeridgian soils as the Grands Crus. There is a small proportion of new oak used here (10-15%) which lends a subtle spice and complexity to the wine, as well as a beautiful creamy texture. Lemon, lime curd and a honeyed note balance the oak perfectly and a light brioche flavour on the finish makes this so moreish. Brilliant freshness and structure.

10 barrels in all, compared to 60 normally. An even lemon yellow. The bouquet delivers a fair weight of white fruit, with barely any sign of the oak. Lemon apples and stony minerals start to emerge. There is clearly a more concentrated fruit here. This is very poised on the palate, with the slightly more exotic character of the right bank, some golden plums, but still the fresh character of the vintage. Very successful. Drink from 2029-2036. 4 stars.

2024 Chablis 1er Cru Montmain Pinson Frères
£180.00 In Bond £236.74 Inc VAT (£39.45 Per Bottle)-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2025
With 65-year-old vines on a mixture of limestone and blue and white clay soils, the south east-facing vineyards in Montmains produce a nicely rounded style, with great minerality. Fresh and energetic apple and pear are marked on the nose, backed up by a silky thread of hazelnut and a stony character. A luxurious and smooth texture that would delight the Chablis purist.
2024 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos Pinson Frères
£350.00 In Bond £440.74 Inc VAT (£73.45 Per Bottle)-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2025
Widely considered Chablis’ grandest Grand Cru, the Pinsons hold an enviable 2.5 hectares. Only 5 barrels were made this year, although Charlene commented that they had done well considering many of their neighbours here had produced none. Around 20% of the wine is fermented in new oak, adding sweet clove flavours and amazing tension and complexity. Light blossom florality and toast on the nose give way to ripe apricot and white peach on the palate with a gun flint and stony finish which is long and refreshing. Fabulously integrated and dense, this will only get better with age.

Five barrels made, of which two are new. Mid lemon yellow. It is still too early for the bouquet to deliver much. A fair concentration of a pure white fruit across the palate, with some apples stepping into the breach, and a saline note to finish. A medium bodied Clos nicely representative of the vineyard. Drink from 2030-2038. 3 stars.
