  • Burghound, January 2017, Score: 88-91

This is aromatically quite similar to the Le Clos but with a bit more overall complexity. There is a highly seductive mouth feel to the sleek, indeed even refined middle weight flavors that contrast somewhat with the ever-so-mildly rustic finale that exhibits more evident minerality and structure. A quality Gevrey villages.

Good dark red. Black cherry, licorice, mint, smoked meat and leather on the nose, plus a faint resiny character. At once more intense and more fruity than the Champ, showing good saline minerality to the blackberry and boysenberry flavors. Finishes with suppler tannins and more concentration and length. Made from one millerandé parcel planted in 1952. 2019 - 2026
