Goedhuis, December 2019
The Grivot parcel of Clos Vougeot is in the lower section of this large grand cru. The combination of its excellent water retention and the Grivot’s skilled vineyard management puts this in the running to be one of the Clos Vougeots of the vintage. Dark berries, damsons and sloes abound. This is a very relaxed style, imposing and yet not forceful, with a long lingering aftertaste.

Neal Martin, January 2020, Score: 93-95
The 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru showed just a little reduction on the nose, but that blows away with modest swirling to reveal blackberries, raspberry coulis, touches of melted tar and rose petals. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip. It displays a fine crescendo in the mouth, until it reaches the effervescent finish. A tang of blood orange and brown spice lingers on the aftertaste. 2023 - 2050

Burghound, January 2020, Score: 92-95
A spectacularly complex and beautifully layered nose offers up an array of plum, spice, game, earth and soft oak nuances. The supple yet punchy and powerful broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent density while delivering first-rate persistence on the remarkably persistent finish that really firms up as it sits on the palate. Impressive and less austere at this early stage than usual. Drink 2033+. Don't miss!

Jasper Morris MW, January 2020, Score: 93-96
Ripe red purple colour, the nose hardly speaking yet. This is a big boy but in balance, with a sweet dark fruit, not quite sure if it goes all the way through. Quiet today but with lots of potential.
