  • Goedhuis Waddesdon, April 2025

More muscular than the Coteau de Chery – a Condrieu with shoulders! Incredible intensity of fruit on the nose – rich, ripe apricots, preserved orange peel and a touch of saffron. Carries through onto the palate, but with a fennel herbal streak running through the core providing freshness through the rich and textured palate. Quite simply awesome.

  • Jeb Dunnuck, May 2025, Score: 97

The single vineyard 2023 Condrieu Clos Chanson brings a bigger, richer style while staying pure, focused, and incredibly elegant. Honeyed white flowers, crushed stone, toast, and tropical notes all shine here, and this beauty is full-bodied, round, lush, and layered on the palate. It's unquestionably in the top handful of Condrieu in the vintage. Drink bottles over the coming decade. Drink 2025-2035.

Domaine André Perret

André Perret needs little introduction: he is the master of light-footed, complex Viogniers from the granite soils of Condrieu. The appellation is known for its rich, mouth-coating whites best drunk in their youth, although André’s sophisticated, expressive examples also have the potential to age well in bottle too. Region

Condrieu

A white wine appellation, Condrieu is produced uniquely from Viognier to make both dry and sweet examples. Its best vineyards are grown on shards of decomposed mica often lending a pronounced minerality in its wines. Though Condrieu had a famous past, its more recent history has been modest and its bottlings were virtually unknown outside its region until the 1980s and 1990s when aficionados began to discover its unusual balance of intense fruity aromatics with its bone dry palate. In particularly warm vintages, their wines are notably rich and hedonistic.
