2022 Bordeaux | Revalued Prices of Wine
Our attention has recently been on the 2022 vintage from Bordeaux, in bottle now for over a year, following the Southwold tastings earlier this month.
“The Southwold blind tasting, reviewing Bordeaux’s most recent vintage after bottling, is always a vinous highlight. But even more so when a vintage hits new heights and beyond. This was most certainly the case for the 2022 vintage this year. The wines are the perfect representation of what makes Bordeaux so special, with depth, structure and longevity. The finest of this vintage have it all and will age for many more years. La Conseillante stood out as a Pomerol great, Rauzan Segla showed its rightful position alongside Palmer and Margaux itself, and Pichon Lalande was joyous.” Buying Director, David Roberts MW. Goedhuis Waddesdon.
Following the market trajectory over the last two years, and the subsequent correction of Bordeaux pricing in the market, many of these wines now sit below their original release pricing. In line with this, we have reduced the prices of these wines to reflect the current market.
Many of these wines will stand the test of time as some of the all-time greats, with four of the below receiving a perfect 100 point score from William Kelley of The Wine Advocate. Other standouts, such as Rauzan Segla and l’Evangile, are also not to be missed.
