Pernot Belicard's superb 2024s

We are delighted to introduce, for the first time at Goedhuis Waddesdon, the exceptional Puligny domaine Pernot-Belicard. Founded by Philippe Pernot, grandson of Puligny legend Paul Pernot, and Caroline Belicard, the domaine has gone from strength to strength, with Philippe now crafting wines from both Caroline’s and the Pernot family vineyards.

The 2024 vintage showcases Philippe’s precision and refinement: beautifully poised wines with steely freshness, impressive depth, purity, and a true sense of place. A rare and limited parcel - not to be missed.

    The fruit for this cuvée is sourced from 2 hectares of vines from around Puligny. There’s a bright green apple and lemon tinged palate, finishing stoney and mineral, with a bite and purity that speaks to its Puligny-adjacent origins. A delicious and senior Bourgogne Blanc.

  • Vinous, January 2026, Score: 88

    The 2024 Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc comes from vines adjacent to the RN74 from nine parcels (2.4 hectares). This has a pretty, malic nose with Granny Smith apple and light chalk scents. The palate is fresh, with a keen thread of acidity that really keeps this on its toes. Not long, a tad abrupt on the finish but I appreciate the attack. Drink 2026-2032.

    The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Composition Parcellaire comes from ten plots (1.8 hectares) around the appellation. It is a little bashful on the nose at first, gradually revealing light grass clipping and green apple scents, just a bit reserved at the moment. The palate is well balanced with a fresh, more citric opening. Decent weight, lightly spiced with a controlled and linear finish, this is Puligny through and through, quite classical in style. Enjoy over the next ten years. Drink 2027-2037

    The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain 1er Cru comes from a 0.19-hectare plot acquired in 2011, the 40-year-old vines suffering degeneration due to SO49 rootstock, so undergo piecemeal replanting. It has a tightly wound bouquet with orchard fruit and beeswax, just a patina of new wood (30%) to be subsumed. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with hints of orange pith and apricot lending charm on the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle to allow the aromatics to open up – fine potential here. Drink 2028-2042

    The 2024 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières 1er Cru comes from a 0.53-hectare parcel planted in 1955. This has a very engaging bouquet with more floral scents (dandelion) entwined with citrus lemon and green apple aromas. Very well defined, and the 33% new oak is very well integrated. The palate is fresh and sapid right from the start, very cohesive and well defined, gaining depth towards the finish that lingers in the mouth, its salinity and mineralité beckoning you back for more. Excellent. Drink 2028-2046

    The 2024 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from the Chassagne side of the climat. This is actually quite similar to the Bienvenues at the moment, a little tight, perhaps showing a little more marine, oyster shell influence. The palate is certainly more precise by comparison, tensile and demonstrating the weight you expect from a Grand Cru. Very impressive persistence with that dab of oyster shell and spice that lingers on the aftertaste, this has a lot of potential. Superb. Drink 2028-2044

  • IN BOND prices exclude UK Duty and VAT. Wines can be purchased In Bond for storage in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse, or for export to non-EU countries. Duty and VAT must be paid before delivery can take place.

  • RETAIL prices include UK Duty and VAT. Wines for UK delivery can only be purchased this way.

  • Duty Paid wines have been removed from Bond and cannot subsequently be returned to Bond.  VAT is payable on Duty Paid wines. These wines must remain Duty Paid but can be purchased as such for storage subject to VAT.

  • En Primeur wines can only be purchased In Bond. On arrival in the UK these wines can either be stored In Bond in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse or delivered directly to you. When you decide to take delivery, Duty and VAT at the prevailing rate become payable.

Tax status

  • DP: Duty Paid. Wines for immediate UK delivery must be purchased Duty Paid. VAT is payable on Duty Paid wines. Wines which have been removed from Bond cannot subsequently be returned to Bond. They must remain Duty Paid but can be purchased as such for storage subject to VAT.

  • EP: En Primeur. These wines are lying in the Domaines’ cellars until shipping. They can only be purchased In Bond. On arrival in the UK these wines can either be stored In Bond in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse or delivered directly to you. When you decide to take delivery, Duty and VAT at the prevailing rate become payable.
