Goedhuis, March 2017
Villero is floral, silky and expressive. The vineyard is based in Castiglione Falletto and has rich iron deposits, these minerals come through in the wine as lovely spiced balsamic notes, with flinty minerals. Rich concentrated fruit, dried rose, violets and cherry aromas float from the glass. This is a multi-layered wine, with intense flavours and a harmonious texture integrated with wonderful fine tannic structure.

Jancis Robinson, March 2017, Score: 17+
Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Leafy, cool cherry nose with hints of iron. Backward, youthful sweet fruit and wonderful grainy tannins. Great balance but not ready by far
Region
Barolo
With Brunello in Tuscany, Barolo is undoubtedly Italy's finest wine producing region. Located in Piedmont in the north west of Iataly Barolo is comprised of 5 major communes - Barolo, Monteforte d'Alba, La Morra, Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d'Alba - though the latter three tend to represent the main styles of the region. The wines are compelling and polished - an exemplary expression of the Nebbiolo grape. DOCG law requires a minimum ageing of 2 years in cask or barrel yet can be longer depending on the producer. Barolos are generally released four or more years after the vintage.
