  • Burghound, January 2015, Score: 90-93

(from 50+ year old vines aged in 100% new wood). Deep ruby color. This is also quite generously oaked with a pungent mélange of ripe red and dark currant fruit, game, smoke and ample amounts of earth. The big, muscular and powerful middle weight plus flavors possess a velvety mouth feel as well as a highly textured finish. The supporting tannins are firm but ripe and well-buffered by the abundant dry extract. This is very Vaucrains in basic character yet it’s perhaps not quite as overtly tannic as it typically is. That said, note that patience will still be required.Drink 2023+
