Burghound, April 2010, Score: 92-95
The spicy and densely fruited nose is stunningly elegant with breathtaking purity and is followed by rich, intense and powerful broad-scaled flavors that are naturally sweet and precise, all culminating in an explosive and highly persistent finish. This is by no means a really big Musigny yet it is impeccably well-balanced, fresh and complete. In sum, this is a seriously fine effort. Drink: 2023+.Notes: from a .77 ha parcel in the sub-climat Combe d'Orveau.Comments: don't miss!
Region
Le Musigny
Le Musigny is a red Grand Cru vineyard based in Burgundy’s Chambolle Musigny village in the Côte de Nuits. Le Musigny is situated between the scrubland at the top of the slope and the upper section of Clos de Vougeot on well-draining limestone soil. The wines of Le Musigny are some of the best in Burgundy on a par with those of Romanée Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Chambertin and Chambertin Clos de Bèze.
