  • Neal Martin, December 2014, Score: 90-92

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Chezeaux has a beautiful nose with fresh red cherry and bergamot scents, lovely definition here and good vigor. The palate is silky smooth with fine acidity, harmonious, refined with impressive substance on the finish. This is a very refined Gevrey-Chambertin that should drink well over the next ten years or so. Drink: 2017 - 2027

  • Burghound, January 2015, Score: 89-91

An expressive nose of relatively high-toned red currant, floral and warm earth scents precedes the equally refined and delineated middle weight flavors that culminate in a balanced, complex and beautifully persistent finish. This is notably finer than the old vines cuvée if not quite a long or concentrated. Still this is lovely and also worth your consideration as it should drink reasonably well young. Drink 2020+

  • Sarah Marsh, November 2014

A good deal of spice on the nose here. It has battened down and is dark and gripy. It shows the bones at bit…at the moment.

Producer

Domaine Fourrier

Jean-Marie Fourrier took over his family domaine in 1994 and has attacked every vintage with dynamic determination and ambition, building the reputation of the estate with astute viticulture and fanatical winemaking. He had learned from the best, most notably the late Henri Jayer of Vosne Romanée and Domaine Drouhin in the Willamette Valley in Oregon with whom he did his formative training. He is a keen participant in the growing trend towards minimal intervention in the vineyard and winery. The domaine has a remarkable array of very old vines, many having been planted between the wars. The Fourrier wines are pure and balanced.
