Neal Martin, December 2014, Score: 94-96
The 2013 Richebourg Grand Cru has a gorgeous bouquet with wonderful definition, a Grand Cru determine to put distance between itself and the over-achieving Echézeaux. This is very fragrant and gains intensity in the glass with luxuriant and very pure red berry fruit. The palate is suffused with a sorbet-like freshness: orange zest permeating the red cherry and strawberry fruit and it fans out on the enormously long finish. Divine...almost as good as the imperious 2012 last year. Drink: 2018 - 2040

Burghound, January 2015, Score: 93-96
(from Richebourg proper). This undoubtedly possesses the most floral nose with its notes of lilac, violet and rose petal along with a broad range of spice elements adding nuance to the dark berry fruit liqueur aromas. There is superb volume and intensity to the pungent mineral-driven and imposingly-scaled flavors that exude focused power on the extract-rich and beautifully well-detailed finale. Like the Echézeaux this is an explosively long wine but as good as it is, and it is indeed superb, this is flat out great. As I have consistently underscored with the Grivot ‘13s though do not buy this wine in the hopes of instant, or even early, gratification as the Riche is going to require a very long snooze in a cool cellar.
