Many of our clients know Gilles by voice – our Frenchman in accounts. What they may not know is that Gilles is quite uncategorically the coolest person in the office. Before his current incarnation at Goedhuis, Gilles was a fixture on the Mod scene and a talented drummer in countless bands. He has been with us for nigh on ten years and is an invaluable part of what we do here.
Incredibly sadly he has been away from the office for some time now. After a three year struggle with cancer his wife Ana died peacefully during the night of 8th March 2010.
Her funeral was on Monday at Putney Vale Crematorium. It was a simple, very beautiful and moving memorial to Ana.
Cara, one of her dearest friends sang “Vissi d’Arte” from Tosca. Dan Phelan remembered happier days talking of Ana’s love of fashion, art, design and the Mod scene. Gilles was a pillar of strength (and his suit was fantastic). But more than anybody Luc, Ana’s nine year old son, would have made his mother so proud as he bravely said goodbye to her recalling family holidays in Lanzarote and New York when they were all happy together.
All our thoughts and love go to Gilles, Luc and Ana’s family at this saddest of times.
Requiescat in pace.
