The Rhone Valley never quite seems to get the attention it deserves, so it is a huge pleasure to receive a note with a glowing report of one of these often under-rated wines. With thanks to Ken Brinsley for his kind words.
Dear Johnny,
Over the years our family have enjoyed numerous lovely wines purchased through your firm.
I’m writing because the other day we had a very special family occassion to celebrate and I sourced a 1995 Northern Rhone from the cellar and I want to tell you how delicious it was.
The wine: Paul Jaboulet Aine 1995 Cornas.
In truth I was prepared for it to be a touch over the hill but absolutely not the case. The long cork pulled like silk without having shown any deterioration in the slightest. The wine still possessed a rich ruby colour, no sign whatsoever of it becoming tawny, it was absolutely loaded with fruit, power flavour and length. In a word, magnificent.
I imagine you receive lots of reports back from customers – accolades concerning Bordeauxs and Burgandys but its good to be able to say marvellous words about Rhone too.
Kind regards,
Ken Brinsley
