  • RETAIL prices include UK Duty and VAT. Wines for UK delivery can only be purchased this way.

  • Duty Paid wines have been removed from Bond and cannot subsequently be returned to Bond.  VAT is payable on Duty Paid wines. These wines must remain Duty Paid but can be purchased as such for storage subject to VAT.

  • En Primeur wines can only be purchased In Bond. On arrival in the UK these wines can either be stored In Bond in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse or delivered directly to you. When you decide to take delivery, Duty and VAT at the prevailing rate become payable.

    This vintage shows good precision as it zeroes in on balance and complexity with a Bordeaux-like sensibilty. Excellent complexity on the nose, showing currants, paprika, cedary blackberries, tobacco, grilled herbs and touches of cocoa powder and roasted sweet spices. Round and more effortless this year, with a positively fluid, precise mouth-feel, Medium body round off by silky, sweet tannins. Lightly creamy at the end but really integrated and elegant, with a long, supple finish. A blend of 57% cabernet sauvignon, 40% malbec and 3% petit verdot. Already approachable, but can hold for a decade, if not more

    Even better than the 2022 release - and that's saying a good deal - this is a superb iteration of luxury group LVMH's iconis Argentinian red. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, with support from 40% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot, it's dominated by fruit from Las Compuertas, with 20% from cooler Paraje Altamira. Matured in 50% new French oak, it's a wine that's approachable young but will reward patience, with sculpted tannins, seamless layers of cassis, bramble and green herbs, a touch of cigar box and a fine, tapering finish. World class.

Mendoza

Mendoza is the largest viticultural region in Argentina, located in the west of Argentina around the city of the same name. The region accounts for more than two-thirds of the country's total wineproduction, which focuses on red wine production. Malbec is the most important grape variety but Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, among many others, are also grown. Central Mendoza has the longest tradition for fine wine production as the climate is temperate and the soils are unusually gravelly for Argentina as elsewhere in Mendoza soils are typically alluvial and sandy.
