Sourced from five Stellenbosch vineyards, the Salt River combines 38-year-old bush vines from the Bottelary Hills with coastal and granite-soiled Polkadraai sites, bringing freshness, tension and fine acidity. Fermented in stainless steel, concrete and seasoned oak, it spent four months on its lees before a further two months in bottle, adding texture and complexity. Brilliant silky flow on the palate, with a great weight to the fruit. Waxy lemon and grapefruit, with a mouth-watering pithy finish. Bracing sea breeze acidity, speckled with gentle vanilla spice. Really punches above its weight.

Restrained but precise aromas of grapefruit and starfruit, with elderflower floral notes and a subtle nettle leafiness. A real stony undertow, too. Engaging balance of the variety’s vigorous freshness and a slightly chewy texture. Chalky, green-fruited and saline on the finish, with a white-pepper kick. Oliver Coleman

Greg Sherwood MW, August 2026, Score: 93+
Made from three Sauvignon Blanc parcels, but soon to be four, this 2025 is a delicious expression with rich layers of white citrus, yellow grapefruit and Cape gooseberry with back grown aromatic hints of cut grass and Granitic mineral spice. Intense, concentrated and beautifully harmonious. This is very classy and one of his best Salt River Sauvignons to date. Drink now to 2032+.
