Stephen Tanzer, November 2015, Score: 94+
Bright, dark red. Highly expressive tangy scents of cherry, wild strawberry, pomegranate, crushed stone and mint. Superrich, tactile, dense and chewy yet light on its feet. Conveys a powerful sense of dry extract and outstanding clarity and cut to its flavors of raspberry, cherry and minerals. The 2014 version shows riper, blacker fruits while this is more about acidulated wild red berries. Wonderfully silky, smooth wine with outstanding energy and thrust. The wine's powerful fruit blows past its refined tannins on the palate-staining finish. Splendid!

Julia Harding, January 2015, Score: 16.5
Savoury dark fruit combined with oaked sweetness. Seems to be a bit smokily reductive too. More reductive on the palate but the freshness and fruit purity is still evident underneath but I fear the oak is a little dominant and may stay that way.
Region
Corton
The Grands Crus of Corton, a red made from Pinot Noir, and Corton Charlemagne, a white made from Chardonnay are shared between Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix Serrigny and Pernand Vergelesses. The vines for both are planted on the hillsides underneath the plateau of Corton's woodland forest. The majorityof Pinot Noir is planted in the southern and eastern sector where the soil is naturally rich with red iron clay giving additional body and power. Overall, the wines from these areas tend to be fruit forward and fleshy with a balance of round edges and fine concentration.
