Goedhuis, December 2015
From a single 7ha plot within the famed 1er Cru Les St Georges. This always produces a robust and substantial Nuits St Georges. Focusing on red fruits, this has a powerful intensity creating a very masculine touch, but the abundant matière and fruit completely envelop the tannins. Superb concentration, this is a wine for laying down.

Neal Martin, December 2015, Score: 89-91
The 2014 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Clos des Fôrets St Georges, which I sampled from several barrels, was matured in 50% new oak. It has a refined nose, backward at first, but opening in the glass: blackcurrant mixed with raspberry and cold stone scents, and just a touch of undergrowth in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and crisp acidity, just a scintilla of bitter cherry. I like the focus here, the symmetry and whilst it does not possess the sustain nor the length of a top vintage, there is more than sufficient freshness and tension. Give it 3-4 years in bottle. Burghound, January 2017, Score: 92
There is a discreet but not invisible application of wood surrounding the intensely floral and notably gamy dark berry fruit suffused nose. There is both good volume and much better mid-palate concentration to the broad-shouldered flavors where the abundant dry extract does a fine job of buffering the firm and slightly rustic tannins that impart a dusty texture to the impressively complex and persistent finish. This should be excellent if you have the patience to wait. Outstanding. 92/2024+

Nuits Saint Georges
The second largest town after Beaune, Nuits St. Georges is known for ample wines that have textured tannins and rich fruit. Unlike other famous Côte de Nuits villages, it has no Grand Crus but does have a handful of exceptional premier cru vineyards such as Clos de l'Arlot, Les Pruliers and AuxMurgers. Its wines can be occasionally rustic, and this sets them apart from many of the more northern appellations as well as from the neighbouring Côte de Beaune whose wines (apart from Pommard) tend to be less structured and more fruit forward. This is no doubt due to a slightly increased presence of clay especially on the Primeaux-Prissey area of the appellation. Notable producers include Domaine de l'Arlot, Jean Grivot and Meo-Camuzet.
