Goedhuis, December 2019
These vines on slopes close to Ladoix in the direction of Nuits St Georges were planted in 1927 and the wine reflects true old vine characteristics. Very deep and concentrated with an array of wild autumnal fruits, it marries extreme intensity with a generous juicy sweetness. Broad and full, with restrained power.

Neal Martin, 90-92
The 2018 Corton Clos Rognet Grand Cru is deep in color and sports a more opulent and dense bouquet than the Corton-Perrières; the black cherry, cassis and violet aromas are very seductive and generous at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, quite saturated tannins, and sweet and candied in style, offering dark cherries and allspice toward the finish. Fine. 2023 - 2040

Burghound, January 2020, Score: 92-94
A slightly fresher and spicier nose blends nose of plum, cassis, earth and plenty of pretty floral nuances. The opulent yet powerful and focused full-bodied flavors flash evident muscle on the serious, very long and balanced finale as the only nit is a hint of warmth. This is very Corton in character and should age accordingly. Drink 2036+

Wine Advocate, January 2020, Score: 92-94+
The 2018 Corton Grand Cru Clos Rognet is built for the long haul but evidently possesses considerable potential. Mingling aromas of cassis and cherries with notes of bitter rose, spices and truffles, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and introverted, with fine but chalky tannins and lively acids. Méo's two bottlings from the hill of Corton are arguably his most underrated wines, and readers with the patience to forget them for 15 or so years should give them serious consideration.

Jasper Morris MW, January 2020, Score: 92-95
Harvested on the same day whereas Perrières whereas normally Rognet is ready to pick up to a week earlier. Vibrant and exuberant purple, sweet deep red fruit with excellent lift, and a heart-warming long distinguished finish.
Region
Corton
The Grands Crus of Corton, a red made from Pinot Noir, and Corton Charlemagne, a white made from Chardonnay are shared between Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix Serrigny and Pernand Vergelesses. The vines for both are planted on the hillsides underneath the plateau of Corton's woodland forest. The majorityof Pinot Noir is planted in the southern and eastern sector where the soil is naturally rich with red iron clay giving additional body and power. Overall, the wines from these areas tend to be fruit forward and fleshy with a balance of round edges and fine concentration.
