Goedhuis Waddesdon, September 2026
One of the most lifted and soaring noses out there, the 2024 Porseleinberg leaps out of the glass. Blue and purple fruit, so expressive and pure, with a gentle patina of spice, it’s very sumptuous in its youth with a brilliant density of fruit. Ripe blueberries, blackberries and a touch of bay leaf, with the unmistakable violet lift on the finish. The tannins are beautifully managed, layer upon layer that just fall on top of each other, wrapping themselves around the core of crushed rock minerality. So easy to fall for its charms in its youth, and will age beautifully too.

Tim Atkin, September 2026, Score: 98
Porseleinberg is one of those wines where the analytical numbers don't make sense, as it has a pH of 4.06 but retains remarkable freshness and acidity, partly from the 100% whole bunch fermentation. Aged in large Stockinger foudres and 10% concrete eggs, it’s a denser wine than the 2023 release, with stony intensity, aromas of clove, fennel and tomato leaf, blackberry and North African spice flavours and seductive tannins. One of the New World’s greatest Syrahs.
