  • Goedhuis Waddesdon, April 2026, Score: 90-92

Quite deep in colour, this is very approachable straight out of the gate in 2025. Blueberries, plums and a touch of spice and cigar box, this feels very easy, with beautifully integrated tannins and a wonderful drive of acidity. Very comfortable already and satisfying, this will provide pleasure already when released in bottle.

  • Neal Martin, May 2026, Score: 90-92

The 2025 Château d'Angludet has an open-knit bouquet with blackberry and raspberry scents, touches of damp loam and cedar emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with lighter tannins than its peers, though balanced, with fine acidity and a cohesive, quite pretty finish. This will need just two or three years in bottle. Drink 2030-2045

  • Antonio Galloni, April 2026, Score: 89-91

The 2025 Angludet is a rich, sumptuous Margaux. Silky contours caress the palate as dark-toned fruit, spice, cedar and tobacco nuances emerge gradually. This fleshy, succulent Margaux had a lot to offer. It should drink well with minimal cellaring. Drink 2028-2038.

  • Jancis Robinson, May 2026, Score: 16.5/20

55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot. 20 hl/ha. Cask sample. Deep colour. Already expressive with dark-fruit and spicy notes. Palate full flavoured, the fruit generous, the tannins fine and integrated. Some persistence on the finish. Should be a good buy for the drinking consumer. Drink 2029-2040

  • Jane Anson, April 2026, Score: 91

Deep and juicy, intense, with gunsmoke reducton on the opening, and sappy tannins that hold clear ageing potential. Yield 20 hl/ha.

Producer

Château d'Angludet

Ch d'Angludet is located in the southwest corner of Margaux close to Giscours and du Tertre and wasfor many years the home of the late Peter Sichel (Bordeaux merchant extraordinaire). He invested heavily in the vineyards and his painstaking work enabled d'Angludet to surpass its more famous neighbours on many occasions.

Region

Margaux

Plump, silky and seductive are the words often used to describe wines from Margaux. Because of their style, they tend to be user friendly and more approachable when young. This is in part due to its terroir which is comprised of the thinnest soil as well as the highest proportion of chunky gravel in all of the Médoc. It drains well but also is it more susceptible to vintage variation. Margaux wines tend to have the highest proportions of Merlot within the core of the Médoc further adding to their ample roundness and openness. Margaux is home to the largest number of classified growths including its namesake first growth, Château Margaux, as well as third growths, Palmer and d'Issan.
