Jean-Marc Boillot is best known for his fabulous Puligny Montrachets but this great winemaker, based in Pommard, also employs his significant skills in the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise. His Montagny 1er Cru Vieux Château has been a regular on the Goedhuis list for 20+ years, but we now also buy his fabulous Rully 1er Cru Rabourcé which he makes in much smaller quantities. This wine comes from Rully’s best known 1er Cru, and from the warm and generous 2015 vintage. There is a gentle kiss of new oak on the palate, which retains great balance and complexity with plenty of minerality and a refreshing drive on the finish. Absolutely ready to drink now and over the next couple of years.

2012 Marsannay Les Longeroies Domaine Charles Audoin
£264.00 / 12 bottles inc VAT (£22.00 / bottle inc VAT)
(List Price: £276.00/12 bottles)

Les Longeroies is situated on the northern edge of Marsannay, which itself is the most northerly appellation of the Côtes de Nuits. Cyril Audoin, who is the fifth generation at the Domaine, which now covers 14 hectares, considers this cuvée 1er Cru in quality. The excellent 2012 has deliciously bright fresh red cherry aromas, and beautifully dense crisp fruit flavours. Firm grainy tannins give it a real sense of terroir, with very good length and a persistent finish. Plenty of complexity and excellent balance. With prices reaching eye-watering levels for some wines made further south in appellations like Gevrey Chambertin, Morey St Denis, Chambolle Musigny and Vosne Romanée, Marsannay remains excellent value, and this 2012 is ready to drink now.
