And some more press coverage for another of our wines, this one making it into Jane MacQuitty’s Top 100 Wines of Winter in The Times last Saturday. We have followed the modest but quite delicious white Bordeaux Château Bel Air Perponcher Réserve for a number of vintages. The 2008 follows closely in the footsteps of its eminently drinkable and excellent value predecessors.
Château Bel Air Perponcher Réserve Bordeaux 2008
“Pay attention at the back – there are lots of Bel Airs in Bordeaux but only one Perponcher Réserve from the Despagnes, renowned, unlike other Bordelais, for their value-for-money wines. Splash out on this heady sauvignon blanc, sémillon and muscadelle mix, whose terrific, zingy, aniseed, gooseberry and grass-cutting scented fruit is less aggressively acidic that Loire sauvignons, but still packs a punch.” Jane MacQuitty
