In celebration of our very close relationship with Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite, we are delighted to offer a very limited release of 2014 and 2019 Anseillan, sourced from an exceptional parcel of Pauillac vineyards owned by the appellation’s great First Growth, Ch Lafite Rothschild. Both vintages are drinking exceptionally well now, and are available for immediate delivery.

    Anseillan is a rare cuvée from Ch Lafite Rothschild and very close to the family’s heart. It is not a declassified wine, but rather a unique property within Lafite that is produced by the Lafite team and aged in the Lafite cellars. The 2014 combines Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to produce a stunning representation of this sensational Pauillac terroir that has the added attraction of being accessible in its youth, without losing its ageing potential. Offered in the hard-to-find magnum format, it is drinking handsomely already.

    Beautiful colour, very young. Rich, intense and expressive nose, very characteristic of the vintage with its ripe and fresh notes. On the palate, the wine continues along the same lines: its attack is dense while remaining lively, it is powerful while being light. Already melted, the tannins are present and stretch the palate with length.

Pricing

  • IN BOND prices exclude UK Duty and VAT. Wines can be purchased In Bond for storage in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse, or for export to non-EU countries. Duty and VAT must be paid before delivery can take place.

  • RETAIL prices include UK Duty and VAT. Wines for UK delivery can only be purchased this way.

Additional Information

  • Duty Paid wines have been removed from Bond and cannot subsequently be returned to Bond.  VAT is payable on Duty Paid wines. These wines must remain Duty Paid but can be purchased as such for storage subject to VAT.

  • En Primeur wines can only be purchased In Bond. On arrival in the UK these wines can either be stored In Bond in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse or delivered directly to you. When you decide to take delivery, Duty and VAT at the prevailing rate become payable.

Tax status

  • IB: In Bond. These wines have had no UK Duty or VAT paid on them. Wines can be purchased In Bond for storage in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse, or for export to non-EU countries.

  • DP: Duty Paid. Wines for immediate UK delivery must be purchased Duty Paid. VAT is payable on Duty Paid wines. Wines which have been removed from Bond cannot subsequently be returned to Bond. They must remain Duty Paid but can be purchased as such for storage subject to VAT.

  • EP: En Primeur. These wines are lying in the Domaines’ cellars until shipping. They can only be purchased In Bond. On arrival in the UK these wines can either be stored In Bond in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse or delivered directly to you. When you decide to take delivery, Duty and VAT at the prevailing rate become payable.
