2023 Morey St Denis Tortochot
£215.00 In Bond £258.00 Inc VAT (£43.00 Per Bottle)-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2024
This cuvée comes from three separate lieux dits on the lower slopes of Morey St Denis: Aux Chesseaux, Clos des Ormes and Les Crais. Chantal always likes to bottle this cuvée early to preserve fruit purity which is her priority to show off the quality of the commune. Open and easy red cherry Pinot fragrance, with a smidgeon of cinnamon. It flows gracefully across the tongue, with a delicate tannic core. So pure and wonderfully charming.

Jancis Robinson, January 2025, Score: 16.5
Smells wonderful. Earthy, true, fluted. Really pure, singing, gentle; the sweetest of fruit framed by something almost mycorrhizal fragrant. (TC)

2023 Gevrey Chambertin Champerrier Tortochot
£255.00 In Bond £306.00 Inc VAT (£51.00 Per Bottle)-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2024
From a selection of 100-year-old vines planted by Felix Tortochot in 1920 at the bottom of Côte St Jacques, this cuvée is a very rewarding example of village Gevrey. Gamey with a wild fruit personality, excellent breadth and volume. A lavish and full style, kept carefully in control with its fine sandy tannic fabric and wonderful old-vine length that surpasses its classification.
-
Jancis Robinson, January 2025, Score: 17
A kind of early-morning fragrance, the smell on your fingers after picking strawberries at dawn. Loam and sweet leaves and warm sweet damp hay and baby oregano leaves. Delicate and yet strong. Like all these Tortochot wines, beautiful in a kind of haunting, evocative way. (TC)

2023 Morey St Denis 1er Cru Cuvee Renaissance Tortochot
£345.00 In Bond-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2024
This is a particularly special cuvée of Morey St Denis for Chantal, named for its return to the domaine after 36 years on a leasehold her father set up with a neighbour in Morey St Denis. It is a beautiful expression of Morey St Denis, which in itself is an appellation reborn. Sweet tayberry and loganberry flavours, a sumptuous and juicy style, highlighting the sweetness of fruit in 2023. Persistent and very graceful to the finish.
2023 Morey St Denis 1er Cru Aux Charmes Tortochot
£360.00 In Bond-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2024
Morey St Denis’s Premier Cru Aux Charmes adjoins Mazoyères Grand Cru. Legend has it that if it had fallen within the more powerful parish of Gevrey Chambertin, it would have been classified as a Grand Cru. With wild autumnal fruit flavours, there is a balance between ample fruit and a controlled core of minerality, with a long, lifting bitter cherry freshness on the finish.
2023 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Champeaux Tortochot
£375.00 In Bond £450.00 Inc VAT (£75.00 Per Bottle)-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2024
A well-positioned Premier Cru on the northern border of the commune alongside Brochon. The vineyard’s clay soil gives a depth of fruit that allows Chantal to age this cuvée in 50% new oak, which it amply supports. It combines gentle, subtle bilberry flavours, with a fullness and breadth in its composition. A very composed and classy Premier Cru.

Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2024
The vineyards of Mazis Chambertin sit between Clos de Bèze Grand Cru and the village of Gevrey Chambertin and are respected for making deep and powerful wines. Opening with brooding dark berry fruits, this wine swiftly shows its breadth and structure as it keeps building in muscle and depth. The impressive weight of fruit easily supports the wine’s tannic core, resulting in a cuvée with huge potential. Such a fine example of this Grand Cru.
2023 Chambertin Grand Cru Tortochot
£1,450.00 In Bond-
Goedhuis Waddesdon, December 2024
The jewel in Tortochot’s crown; almost 0.5 hectares of Gevrey’s greatest Grand Cru at one of the highest locations within the vineyard, sitting just below the tree line. Chantal was delighted to have made seven barrels in 2023, but prepare yourselves for just 300 bottles in 2024! A lavish scent of blackberry fool and vanilla pod flows through to the palate. Beautifully composed and poised, this is extremely intense with a long purposeful finish. A wine of infinite stature, true to its prestige and classification.
