WINE MAKER | Nicolas Potel

Nicolas, being the son of esteemed winemaker Gérard Potel, began his Burgundian education from the youngest possible age, growing up on the family estate at Domaine de la Pousse D’Or, in Volnay before training at Domaine Matrot and Domaine Roumier.
All of this led him to build up a network of contacts, alongside a reputation, to source the highest quality grapes and wine from top domaines. He continues to use the same sources and maintains the hands-on relationship with the growers he has worked with for almost 30 years.

THE WINERY

THE WINERY

The name Bellene comes from the ancient Gallic God of sun and beauty, Belenos. The city of Beaune was originally known as Belena during the Roman period, and from these historic titles Nicolas drew the name Bellene.
Along with an eclectic range of Regional, Village and Premier Cru Burgundies, Maison Roche de Bellene offers the largest selection of Grand Cru wines in Burgundy which are available on request.
