WINE MAKER | Victor Joyeux
After graduating as an agricultural engineer and oenologist in 2009, Victor's thirst for learning led him to explore various terroirs by travelling through the vineyards of the Old and New Worlds.
From France to California, via Argentina and Australia, Victor discovered different approaches and techniques for making the best wines around the world.
He finally settled in the famous Marlborough region of New Zealand, where he held the strategic position of Winemaker at Cloudy Bay (LVMH) for 8 years.
In May 2023, Victor Joyeux returned to his homeland to become Technical Director at Château d'Estoublon, bringing his expertise and vision while continuing to build on the estate's exceptional know-how.
THE VINEYARD
Roseblood's vineyards are in the heart of the Coteaux Varois appellaton in Provence, on hillsides between 350 and 500 meters above sea level. They benefit from a climate with mild continental influences - often mild autumns and springs alternate with sometimes torrid summers and colder, harsher winters than in the rest of the region.
This wine region is also known for its red earth soils. Most of the vines grow on clay-limestone soils with areas of flint and gravel. This terroir brings expression, freshness, balance, and roundness to the wines.
In this blend of four emblematic Provençal grape varieties, each plays its part in creating the harmony and elegance iconic of Roseblood. Grenache offers roundness, delicacy, and subtle aromas, while Syrah brings power and color. Cinsault, renowned for its finesse and fruity notes, nuances the power provided by Grenache and Syrah. To add roundness and freshness, a touch of Rolle and Semillon are added to the blend, making it Roseblood's signature.
