Tasted at the “Rewards of Patience” vertical in Berlin. The 2007 is more “Barossa” than the 2006 on the nose, with more overt eucalyptus aromas that leap from the glass alongside over-ripe Satsuma, apricot and a touch of honey. It is well defined and pure. The palate is rich and open with generous, fleshy fruit: macerated dark cherries, vanilla, boysenberry and tobacco. It is very primal with good weight, the finish muscular and spicy with a very long tail that is missing a little tension and poise at the moment. Drink now-2023.
