Goedhuis, April 2011, Score: 88-91
An extremely well-balanced wine, there is nothing forced just excellent harmony between fruit, tannins and freshness. This is complete, long and a quality example of the vintage at a sensible price. DR

Neal Martin, April 2011, Score: 92-94
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois primeur tasting. This has a lovely ripe blackberry, cassis and vanillary nose with beautifully integrated new oak. Seamless. The palate is medium-bodied with a rich, liquorice tinged entry, sappy dark berries, a touch of soy perhaps towards the finish. Unruly at the moment, ambitious and sure to make a big impression after bottling.

Robert Parker, March 2020, Score: 89
Made of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet colored 2010 Chasse-Spleen gives up notes of stewed plums, baked blackcurrants and blackberry compote with hints of wild sage, leather and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, the fruit is drying just slightly on the palate, and it has a sturdy frame of chewy tannins, finishing herbal. Lis Perrotti-Brown

Robert Parker, February 2013, Score: 90
A beautiful effort from Chasse-Spleen, this dense purple wine exhibits plenty of black currant and black cherry fruit with some licorice, roasted herbs and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied and supple, the final blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot has produced a fleshy, succulent style of Chasse-Spleen to drink over the next 15+ years.Drink: 2013-2028

Robert Parker, May 2011, Score: 88-90
A strong effort, the tannic, medium to full-bodied 2010 possesses good minerality, zesty acidity, admirable freshness and both blue and black fruits. With impressive depth and length, this pure Moulis should drink well for 15+ years. Drink: 2011 - 2026
Region
Moulis
Moulis is an appellation in the south of the Haut-Médoc in Bordeaux. There are many different soil types, including clay, gravel and limestone, which results in a variety of wine styles. Its wines offer good value for money and are generally well structured, often with some of the perfume of Margaux to the east.
