Goedhuis, December 2011
A wine which balances harmony and breadth of fruit. This is a rich and broad wine which coats the mouth with a huge volume of fruit. A high class wine showing its great breeding and complexity.

Burghound, January 2013, Score: 92
This is notably more elegant with superb aromatic purity and depth that speaks of notably cool red and black pinot fruit, rose petal, anise, clove and cinnamon hints. The complexity doesn’t stop with the nose either as the intensely mineral-driven flavors also possess outstanding depth, all wrapped in a tension-filled and explosive finish. A classic Beaux Monts that is built on its minerality. Drink 2020+

Burghound, January 2012, Score: 92-94
This is more elegant still with superb aromatic purity and depth that speaks of notably cool red and black pinot fruit, anise, clove and cinnamon hints. The complexity doesn't stop with the noseeither as the intensely mineral-driven flavors also possess outstanding depth, all wrapped in a tension-filled and explosive finish. It's not yet clear whether this will be able to match thestunningly good '09 but it will at least be a horse race as this is genuinely terrific but notethat plenty of patience will be necessary. 2025+

Jancis Robinson, January 2012, Score: 17
Very dark ruby. Heady and complex. Lots of sweetness on the front palate leads into something very mellifluous and not at all obdurate unlike some wines from this domaine. Has an extra dimension of concentration. Though not everyone will want it. Not cheap! Drink 2017-2027
Region
Vosne Romanée
The vineyards of the modest village of Vosne Romanée are arguably the most sought after in the Côte d'Or. It is host to excellent Village and Premier Cru wines, but it is its most famous Grand Crusthat truly stand out: Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Grands Echézeaux, Echézeaux, Romanée St. Vivant and La Romanée as well as Cros Parentoux, a Premier Cru vineyard which attracts Grand Cru attention (and prices). Vosne-Romanée can be remarkably robust and powerful, yet be charming and fleshy giving it one of the most diverse styles of the region.
