  • IN BOND prices exclude UK Duty and VAT. Wines can be purchased In Bond for storage in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse, or for export to non-EU countries. Duty and VAT must be paid before delivery can take place.

  • RETAIL prices include UK Duty and VAT. Wines for UK delivery can only be purchased this way.

  • Duty Paid wines have been removed from Bond and cannot subsequently be returned to Bond.  VAT is payable on Duty Paid wines. These wines must remain Duty Paid but can be purchased as such for storage subject to VAT.

  • En Primeur wines can only be purchased In Bond. On arrival in the UK these wines can either be stored In Bond in Private Reserves or another bonded warehouse or delivered directly to you. When you decide to take delivery, Duty and VAT at the prevailing rate become payable.

    The 2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru comprises just one barrel and includes 25% whole bunch. It has a fragrant bouquet of mineral-rich dark berry fruit, wilted rose petals and crushed limestone. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins. A supremely elegant Echézeaux with a beautifully poised finish. Superb. 2024-2040

    Lively fresh purple, animal reduction, which has only just arrived in the wine and is not bacterial. Indeed it is very superficial because there unfolds an absolutely gorgeous beneath, full of energy, sweetly ripe and very succulent. I think this will be a real star. I have refrained from awarding the 5th star today because of the reduction on the nose, but it may well earn it on a future outing. 4 stars

Echézeaux

One of two Grand Crus within the Flagey-Echezeaux area right in the heart of the Cote de Nuits. Relatively large and consequently diverse for a Grand Cru, the better Echézeaux wines undoubtedly deserve this status. As always in Burgundy vineyard location and grower is critical.
