Goedhuis, December 2020
A very smart village cuvée comprised of 65% Premier Cru Fournaux and 35% village lieu dit Fournaux. Normally quite an accessible style, with bright red fruit, beautiful purity and freshness.

Neal Martin, December 2020, Score: 86-88
The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Fourneaux is a blend of Premier and Village Cru vines and therefore declassified as the latter. The fragrant bouquet of lifted raspberry and wild strawberry scents is attractive and pure. The palate is medium-bodied with a tart entry, quite tight but fresh. Village Cru is probably the correct level, as this does not possess the length and depth of a higher ranking. Drink 2022 - 2030

Burghound, April 2021, Score: 88
A ripe and appealingly perfumed nose speaks of various red berries, plum and plenty of earth. The exceptionally rich, even lush, mediumbodied flavors possess a suave mouthfeel while the lingering and slightly warm finish tightens up enough to suggest that 6 to 8 years will be necessary to see this at its peak. Jasper Morris MW, December 20201, Score: 90
This is a blend of village and 1er cru components, a decision taken as from the 2018 vintage. Bottled in September: Early harvest, early malolactic, so why not? There is a total explosion of lively cherry and strawberry fruit from the semi carbonic maceration. Very elegant, with enough acidity, decent length, excellent in its style, easy to approach early. 4 stars
Region
Savigny-lès-Beaune
The picturesque village of Savigny-lès-Beaune, just to the north of Beaune, is a relatively prolific producer in Burgundian terms. Less serious than its neighbours, Pommard and Volnay, these are nonethless delicious wines - perfumed, delicate and elegant. A tiny amount of white is produced.
